Having been brought up in the multi-cultural societies of Cyprus, Bahrain and England, I find the theme of ‘travel’ a natural and infinite source of inspiration. People and everyday surroundings fascinate me, as is evident in much of my work.

Coming from a Fine Art background, there is an inherent desire to fuse old interests with new techniques: particularly the notion of opposites and contradictions (line and void, light and dark, strength and fragility etc), to form hybrids and paradoxes.

Many of my designs originate from photographs and sketches of people, places and textures of interest encountered during travel. This work often leads towards abstracted pattern work or direct expressions of simplified line drawings.

Now specialising in Glass, many designs are developed with the intention of integrating art and architecture in a unique and seamless way. Thus, as an artist and designer, I am constantly playing with and pushing the boundaries of glass as a decorative and functional medium, as well as challenging the expectations of using modern and traditional processes to develop and create harmonious dualities.
